Children & Adolescents Positive Psychology Cards Certification Course

Course Introduction

“Positive Psychology Card for Children and Adolescents”, developed by Dr. Han Peiling, a positive psychologist, was based on the two important theories of strengths and positive emotions in positive psychotherapy. Based on the ten positive emotions and ten negative emotions set out by Barbara Fredrickson, Dr. Han led the positive psychology practice team to compile the text of the “Strength Cards” and “Emotion Cards”. The 52 card images were carefully designed by consultant psychologist Xiao Zhaoqi. The images reflect a blending of Chinese and Western cultures, nature, the twelve Chinese zodiac signs, the seasons, etc. to bring out the concept of positive psychology, making them particularly relatable in the Chinese cultural context.

Course objectives

Through the teaching of the advantages of the theory of positive psychological intervention, the theory of positive emotions, and the basic theory and application methods of PERMA, the positive psychology cards can be used to nurture students’ ability to develop playful intervention, self-healing and empowerment, and positive psychological counselling.

Church ministers, Sunday school tutors, social workers, counsellors, play therapists, speech therapists, teachers, teaching assistants, Playgroup instructors, or any educators with experience in group games; those who are interested in learning about Positive Psychology Cards; those who would like to use the positive psychology cards to provide positive psychological counselling.

According to the students who have participated in this course, after completing the course, they all wish to use the “Positive Psychology Card for Children and Youth” as a tool to help participants to have a positive attitude towards life and embark on a rich and fulfilled life journey.
